Immortal Champions V: Argelier and Stankiewicz Victorious

Immortal Champions 5 took place Sunday at Porchester Hall in West London.

An entertaining and well-matched fight card entertained the large crowd, who were also treated to a live musical performance by singer Hugo Strada.

Iske Wins Hard Fought Battle

A Ladies Full Rules Muay Thai match opened the main card hostilities. Jane Iske won a decision against Ireland’s Rita Gabryte in a hard fought battle that featured punches, kicks, knees, elbows, and sweeps.

Immortal Champions Extreme Debuts!

History was made in the next match.

The first Immortal Champions Xtreme match took place. IC Extreme bouts are contested under full Muay Thai rules with four-ounce MMA gloves.

New Zealand’s Tyler Hogan defeated Iran’s Abbas Khorrami by first-round TKO.

Both fighters started quickly, ending up in a clinch in the corner. The blue-haired Hogan started to work the body kick, with his supporters cheering every time he landed.

A Hogan kick caught Khorrami on the right forearm, causing an injury. The referee stopped the fight on the ringside physician’s advice.

Stankiewicz Thrills Fans in TKO Victory

Lukasz Stankiewicz sent his supporters home happy.

The Polish fighter, representing Lumpini Crawley Martial Arts, scored an exciting second-round TKO against Lithuania’s Mindaugas Mikaliak, a KOK veteran.

Stankiewicz was the aggressor early. Mikaliak moved laterally, looking for openings to counter punch.

The Lithuanian may have landed the round’s best blow, connecting with a counter right hand that momentarily stunned Stankiewicz.

Stankiewicz quickly resumed the offensive. A tiring Mikaliak tried a single leg takedown late in the stanza.

Stankiewicz continued to apply pressure in round two, with a bleeding Mikaliak’s output slowing.

A Stankiewicz punch combination knocked Mikaliak down. He gamely continued before he was thrown down, with Stankiewicz following up with punches until the referee called the bout off.

A large crowd turned up for Stankiewicz. They cheered their hero loudly after the fight was over.

Argelier Captures GUAVAPAY Title

In the Immortal Champions V main event, Malta’s Kevin Argelier defeated Tarkan Erokcu of Turkey to win the promotion’s British belt in the 70 kg weight category. Lead sponsor GUAVAPAY presented the title fight.

Argelier showed good skills and an unorthodox style in winning a unanimous three-round decision.

After the match, the Maltese fighter said he’s willing to return to defend his Immortal Champions title.

Immortal Champions V: Part I Results

Four amateur Muay Thai bouts started off the action.

Rafe Williams remained unbeaten with a unanimous decision against Archie Tsang. An impressive performance by Williams, who outscored his opponent over the three-round distance. Williams fights out of the BAMA Academy.

In the second match, Jonny Hart gutted out a close split decision against Manuel Gangal. Gangal stunned Hart in round two with a right hand and follow up shots, drawing blood from Hart’s nose.

Hart battled back in round three, outlanding Gangal to earn the judges’ favour.

Thomas Pociuipa pressured his way to a decision win against Tylfe Charles. Charles landed some clean jabs and a couple of cracking body kicks during the three rounder. Pociupia kept coming forward, outscoring Charles to get the win.

Arjan Jaiyeola impressed in the featured prelim match up. The Lumpini Crawley product landed a right high kick early, knocking down IC veteran Ching Mac.

Mac courageously got up and continued. Jaiyeola threw another high kick, following up with a flurry of punches. The referee intervened to rescue a dazed Mac.
